:)Media Studies.. 09.09.10

Today, we learnt , many different things.
We learnt about images and camera shots within a tv drama. How each background and image signify a different meaning to different people.

A Extreme Wide Shot:
The view is so far from the subject that he isn't even visible. Often used as an establishing shot. So like a build up to something happening elsewhere and where it's set.

Wide Shot:
The subject takes up the full frame, or at least as much as comfortably possible. Also know as a long shot.
Showing setting and persons body proportion.

Mid Shot:
Shows some part of the subject in more detail while still giving an impression of the whole subject.

Medium Close Up:
Half way between a MS and a CU.

Close Up:
A certain feature or part of the subject takes up the whole frame.

An Extreme Close Up:
Of someone’s face in a soap opera being a convention of that genre to signify that the audience is to have an emotional reaction to the character’s expression.

Images in a tv drama, signify didn't things. Depending on screen shots and setting.
